Please Stay Tuned - New Jewelry is Coming - But I Paused for a Bit to Complete a Marathon Swim :)

A lot has happened in the last month or so as I attempted to balance my creative passion with my sport passion. I am always working on new jewelry designs, but my late summer took a detour as I finalized my preparation for a marathon swim and successfully swam around Manhattan a few days ago. Below is an image of me nearing the swim completion. This was an amazing experience and will no doubt inspire future jewelry designs!

Is it weird to share about my passion for open water swimming on my jewelry blog? Maybe a little, but water themes are abstractly expressed in my jewelry designs and I often design jewelry when I swim.  I also think on, with gratitude, all the people that help me complete a marathon swim as it takes a crew of dedicated people to support such an endeavor.

At one point during the swim, as I was directed to swim close to my kayaker along the shore where the current wasn't flowing as strongly against me, a quote I had once read came to mind and I searched for it fully after the swim. While the quote is about our environmental health and life on earth, I related it to my swim and crew too.

"We travel together, passengers on a little spaceship, dependent upon its vulnerable reserve of air and soil; all committed for our safety to its security and peace; preserved from annihilation by the care, the work, and I will say, the love we give our fragile craft. We cannot maintain it, half fortunate, half miserable, half confident, half despairing, half slave — to the ancient enemies of mankind — half free in the liberation of resources undreamed of until this day. No craft, no crew, can travel safely with such vast contradictions. On their resolutions depends the survival of us all." by Adlai Stevenson

With the swim completed, I am returning to focus on my jewelry passion. Thank you for following along on my often random musings and adventures. As a solo entrepreneur I juggle all the things. Please consider subscribing to my newsletter - as my subscribers will be the first to know when the new jewelry is available.
