LOL - of course I am drawn to the new Pantone colors for 2021 as they are close to my chosen brand colors :) My preferred yellow is a little bit more chartreuse and I love gray.
There could be any number of reasons for this love of gray - I originally hail from New England and I tend to like colder temperatures, wintertime makes me feel really good, and gray is such a winter color. Maryland doesn’t often give a gift of lasting snow, but we do get some brilliant gray and cozy foggy mornings.
In my jewelry I often play with shades of gray by applying a darkening patina to silver. Like with the earrings below. The contrast harkens to the trees in the fog and the yellow gold-filled ear wires add a pop of warmth.
This is an unusual holiday season and there have been more online opportunities to share my work. The (Greenbelt, MD) Festival of Lights Juried Art and Craft Fair invited participants to create artist videos. You can learn a bit more about me at this link.
I have also recently created a YouTube channel to highlight the textures and the sounds of my stacked Tyvek paper jewelry.
